Welcome to the oldest brewery in the state of South Carolina, where great beer has been made since 1993. Palmetto Brewery was founded following a wind-surfing trip to the Columbia River Gorge. After drinking beer from the local brewery, we knew that Charleston needed a brewery of its own. We brought something different to a landscape dominated by yellow fizzy beer.
Our facility on Huger Street in downtown Charleston is open to the public for tastings and tours when we are not too busy making beer for this thirsty city. The brewery is currently under construction, but will resume our 5-day-a-week beer tasting schedule this summer. We can't wait to serve 8oz tasters and 16oz pints of special releases and our four year-round offerings. Samples are $3 & $5 respectively, and guests are limited to 48 ounces per visit.
