See all tour dates in the US below! We waited in line for 3 hours in order to be at the front for this concert and it was Definitely worth it! First, Jack Harlow opened and although it did not appear that many people in the audience knew his music, he gave it his all and provided an Energetic and Great Performance! His energy was really good and I think he did a nice job despite the crowd not being super responsive! Then! Portugal. The Man came on and the lighting and background were CrazyCool! I could’ve just watched that! But the band was Awesome! Clearly they had experience in entertaining and did an Amazing job putting on a one of a kind show! They were all highly gifted instrumentalists and their music sounded Super! The only thing I wish was different regarding the concert is that the microphones were not very loud and I could not always understand what song was even being played! Otherwise though I highly recommend seeing them live!
I was so excited for this show! Having seen them in 2009 and 2010, I was hyped to hear the old and new stuff. However, I don't know if it was the venue (Public Hall) or the band's sound set up or a combination of the two, but the sound was terrible. I mean, really bad. We moved from the very front to the middle, to the back, hoping to get a better position, but nothing helped. The back was a bit better, but it wasn't good. It ruined the show. I don't know if the change in venue threw their sound engineers for a loop, but whatever the reason, I was pretty disappointed. And I wasn't the only one.
This was such an amazing experience for me. This was my first real concert and first time being in the pit so I don’t have a whole lot to base it off of but I can tell you it was incredible and will always be a memorable highlight for me. They first entered with “For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica and then transitioned into “Another Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd which then transitioned into “Purple, Yellow, Black, and Blue” off of their album Evil Friends. Overall that opening was so amazing and almost made me feel like I was at a 70s rock concert. Their whole set was almost like one fluid piece with each song flowing into the next. They closed their set with “Feel It Still” which I was really hoping they weren’t going to play “Feel It Still” because that is by far their most overplayed song and even though it is good, it is far from their best, but sadly that’s all anyone knows them for. So if you only know them for that one hit then you most likely won’t enjoy it too much but if you genuinely like them and listen to all their albums then you will be super happy with the outcome I hope. Also the lighting was also super amazing and added a lot to the music rather than just being simple whit lights on the stage. It really added to the “psychedelic” effect that the band goes for. Overall 10/10 and I would love to see them again and play a full concert set instead of just 40 minutes.
