He has become an institution in Urban culture after his critically-acclaimed debut, First Born Second, was released in 2001. He has collaborated with legends such as The Roots, D'Angelo, Common, and Erykah Badu, and despite label politics preventing an official follow up album until now, Bilal has toured around the world for the past decade, branding his signature falsetto, and building a loyal cult fanbase.
