Tru Thoughts is an independent record label co-founded by DJ/A&R Robert Luis in 1999 in Brighton, on the south coast of England. With an ever-evolving roster of international artists working across a diverse range of styles – from electronica, hip hop, grime, reggae, Afrobeat and Cumbia to soul, jazz, funk, folk, psychedelia and beyond – the imprint has caught the imagination of fans across the globe, becoming a symbol for quality music made with soul and creative freedom.
Since being founded, Tru Thoughts have put out acclaimed releases by the likes of Quantic, Bonobo, The Hot 8 Brass Band, Belleruche, Maddslinky (AKA Zed Bias), Hidden Orchestra, Alice Russell, Anchorsong and many more. In a unique 4 hour DJ set Robert Luis will be taking people on a guided tour through the history of one of the UK’s most game changing labels.
