I only started following Piers Faccini recently when I heard his track Tribe on a friends car CD player, and I fell in love with it immediately and was desperate to see him perform live. After finding more music of Faccini’s, it became evident that as well as being an incredible vocalist, his song writing skills, and guitar playing are both incredible.
In fact, he opened the show with Tribe which was surreal, and half way through the track he played an incredibly intricate guitar solo, creating a beat by hitting the body in between strums, and improvising flawlessly. Although his recordings are of cause breath taking, hearing the improvisations and alternative twists on the tracks at the show was something really magical that you’d never experience on a recording.
He played through a great selection of his tracks, from his debut EP Leave No Trace, and he even played a track from the drama Killing Hitler that he composed the music for. He was a reasonably introverted performer, but translated his emotions very well, and really had the audience on board for the entire show.
