As we enter the last weeks of winter on Boonwurrung/Bunurong Country, join us for a beautiful afternoon of ambient and cinematic music from IKSRE, Matt Wicking and Paul Raine. These three artists will combine forces for a one-off performance of their own individual tracks, embellished with improvisations from the other musicians.
Warm Mids Afternoon is a chance to experience music in a way that feels more like a waking dream than a night out. This isn't your standard gig. No stiff-backed seats, no standing awkwardly with a drink in your hand. We want you to sink in, spread out, and get truly horizontal if the mood takes you.
Bring cushions, blankets, pillows, a book or a craft project. Build yourself a little nest and let the music carry you somewhere soft and far away.
This event invites you to immerse yourself in beautiful, warming sounds that reflect the final moments of winter's embrace before Spring arrives.
IKSRE (I Keep Seeing Rainbows Everywhere) is the solo moniker of vocalist, multi instrumentalist, producer and sound healer, Phoebe Dubar. A mainstay in the ambient music realm, her music exists at the intersection of the natural and human worlds. She combines ethereal vocals with lush strings, bass-forward synths and ambient guitar with field recordings and sound healing instruments, to create her unique style of "ambient bangers".
MATT WICKING and PAUL RAINE: Matt Wicking is a powerful singer and award-winning lyricist based in Boon Wurrung Country - and lead singer of The General Assembly. Audiences have described performances as “achingly beautiful”,“divine”, “so powerful and gorgeous!”, “truly incredible” and “an emotional experience". Performing here with long-time collaborator Paul Raine (multi-instrumentalist composer and sound designer), their set will combine an unforgettable voice with lush, layered soundscapes.
Doors 2:30pm. Come early and get yourself comfortable for 90 minutes of music from 3pm.
