Tafelmusik’s new season opens with the music of two mavericks of their era. Louise Farrenc was a trailblazer whose acclaimed Symphony no. 3 premiered during her tenure as the first female professor at the Paris Conservatory. Ludwig van Beethoven’s revered Symphony no. 7 was described by the composer himself as “one of my best works.” The haunting intensity of its allegretto movement has become legendary. Making his Tafelmusik debut is the celebrated young German conductor Jakob Lehmann, known for conducting that “vigorously shakes up our listening habits.” (Classica)
