Biografía
Maarten's first piece of action began back in 2006, when Bingo Players was born by Dutch DJs Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer. They signed to their own record label Hysteria records and got to work on what would be a break through in electronic fused dance music. Their career has been short but sweet, little but effective. They haven't seen much chart action but their dance music originates from Disclosure and later sounding Swedish House Mafia.
Tragically the band had a major defining moment in 2013 when the other half of Bingo Players, Paul announced via Facebook that he was a victim of cancer. Only months after been diagnosed Paul died of his horrible illness leaving Maarten to take to the stage alone.
Maarten has carried the torch high and played thousands of shows now for the last year completely solo, with Paul in his heart and spiritually there on the decks. I's remarkable and heart lifting to hear their music and watch the live sets knowing that Maarten plays with twice as much passion now.
With everything bad comes something good and that would be the case as around the same time as Pauls passing, Bingo players snatched up their first number one single 'Knock You Out,' in the US dance chart.

3 years ago bingo players with both Maarten and Paul was me and my husband's first date after having met at a Tiesto concert. the first song that played was out of my mind and I knew right then that was a sign that we are meant to be together. during the song rattle a confetti shoot came out and I captured it on video it was pretty awesome and Martin shared it and I got like 500 viewy YouTube. from what I understand it was Maarten who told me that only a month after there visit here in Houston that it was Paul's last show and he passed that next month in December. two months after that my husband and I married and was separated for 13 months because of a visa but I had to fight long and hard for because I could not afford a lawyer. a month after my return from my honeymoon I found out I had cancer. prior to that I had already been telling Bingo Players my situation and that his song knock you out was my motivation for me to keep fighting even though I had not had my surgery because I was waiting for my husband. during the song when he came to Houston the second year I was without my husband and his friend who carries around the microphone grab my phone when that song came on and took it up on stage and got a view of the crowd and of Maarten singing into my camera for me. this past year just a couple of weeks ago here in September 2015 my husband was here to go see my favorite DJ with me. he said as soon as he saw me he had some people go get me and they did and they brought me on stage with him and that has never happened and my 10 or 15 years of going to this same venue here in Houston. I cried of course and then he played knock you out for me turn around pointed at me smiled and play the song. I asked him why he was not selling any merchandise I did not have much money after all of the stuff I have been through with my medical but still wanted to support him and he said no we don't have any this time around but give me your home address and I will send you something. do you know he sent me the record for knock you out? And he sent us two t shirts one for me and one for my husband that said out of my mind It was as if he had handpicked these items himself. he also sent us a flag and a couple of hats snapbacks I guess you call them. this is beyond way beyond what a DJ should do for his fans. not to mention that he goes hard every single time and I am so proud of him for continuing after Paul has passed. that was my initial inspiration and then here I was with the same thing and I am proud to say that now I am cancer free. Praise God Praise Maarten Praise Bingo Players. I know Paul is up in heaven smiling. I love you Bingo Players.♡♡
Looking for a live concert to get your heart racing, fist pumping and body jumping? Then, Bingo Players is the act for you. Beginning as a duo in 2006, Dutch DJs Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer signed to their own record label, Hysteria Records. The pair went on to create countless remixes and original songs over the next 7 years. In 2013, the Bingo Players released the song “Get Up (Rattle)”, which was hugely successful, reaching number one in the United Kingdom as well as becoming a Top 10 hit in Australia, Austria and many parts of Europe. At the end of 2013, it was announced that Bäumer had passed away after battling cancer for a year. After taking time to mourn the loss of his friend, Hoogstraten revealed that it was Bäumer’s wish that he would carry on as a solo act and, in adhering to these wishes, he earned Bingo Players’ their first number one in the US dance chart with “Knock You Out”. Standing in a crowd of energetic and tireless fans, it is clear why Bingo Players have reached such levels of success. Not one person looks bored or unhappy as Hoogstraten unceasingly produces unbelievable remixes. I challenge everyone out there to not enjoy themselves as incredible light shows beam out from all directions while Hoogstraten continues to transition flawlessly from one song to the next. You will never witness an atmosphere like it as the venue fills to the brim with hundreds of active bodies, each one as elated as the one before. Leaving the venue with ringing ears and aching limbs, it is clear that Bingo Players provide an unforgettable experience.
If you are prepared to hear the most colossal drops in dance music and get your head nodding with enthusiasm, a Bingo Players concert is the place for you. In a heart-warming display of courage, Maarten Hoogstraten, originally one half of the Dutch-based dance duo, has agreed to carry on with the Bingo Players project despite the tragic passing of musical partner Paul Bäumer, and you can be sure that he is ready to blow the world away in dedication to Paul in concerts all over the globe. With the combination of futuristic-like graphics on display and everyone dancing in time to the brilliantly-mixed tunes, you will feel like you've just stepped into the world's greatest nightclub with none other than Maarten as the resident host. Not only will you get a mix of some of the best anthems, you will also be able to hear original Bingo Players tunes mixed by the man himself, including Knock You Out, Out Of My Mind and Rattle, a collaboration with Far East Movement and Bingo Players' first number one single in the UK.
The amount of energy that channels from the speakers into the crowd is phenomenal and will keep you dancing for hours. Just beware of the mosh pits suddenly erupting all around you and enjoy the danceland paradise – a definite not miss for dance and techno lovers and clubbers out there.
Originally a duo, Bingo Players is now the stage name of Maarten Hoogstraten who is said to be carrying on the operation in memory of his late bandmate Paul Bäumer. The man himself is an incredibly talented DJ and really knows how to mix tracks as glides effortlessly between their own music and huge dance anthems of the time.
The crowd turns out in strong force for the party atmosphere and cheer in approval for early single 'Cry (Just a Little)'. Bingo Players are yet to release a debut album so the set tonight consists of their popular singles along with remixes for the likes of Martin Solveig and The Prodigy. The drops involved are huge and the audience feels partly like they are sitting on an electro rollercoaster as Maarten teases them at the brink for prolonged periods before unleashing absolute pandemonium. Hoogstraten closes an impressive set with the remix of 'Flo Rida – Good Feeling' and their biggest international hit to date, 'Get Up (Rattle)'. The whole crowd roars with enjoyment as the frontman takes a final bow with a huge beam plastered across his face.
Maarten is kick ass. Epic show. Awesome vibes. Soundcheck DC was beautiful. Great music. Awesome lighting. Free water. Spacious dance floor. Bingo players tore it up. Every song they dropped was fire. Thank you <3 - DJ AFINO
