Marco Borsato of course is incredibly popular, so the tickets that I had to go and see him perform were like gold dust. He opened the show by having his saxophonist play the introduction to De Waarheid, and holding out the microphone to the crowd to get everyone singing, before he joined in with the chorus, and everyone began screaming and cheering to his music. Of course his following is due to his talent, but also his work on The Voice of Holland as a judge.
He was great at interacting with the audience, as well as performing incredible vocal riffs and solos, and was great at keeping everyone engaged throughout the show. He played a great selection of tracks, from Emozioni, right through to his newest album, Duizend Spiegels, which went down incredibly. He performed a duet of a song that I was unfamiliar with, and held the entire audience in complete silence from start to finish. At the end of the track, everyone erupted into a huge, very well deserved applause.
Marco did a couple of covers to keep the audience engaged, and when he played his song Binnen, which has won several awards, he taught everyone the melody and lyrics of the chorus to once again join in. He’s an incredibly talented musician, and his dedication to the show and audience made the show even more special.
Concert was awesome. It could have been a show of an international artist. Wonderful visuals, stage and top guests. Marco was better than ever. I really enjoyed the evening and feeling sorry I only have 1 ticket ;) haha
