Yoshi Flower is a really cool artist because his music feels hip hop, while he clearly writes his songs on a guitar. This unique combination means his songs are super catchy and also rock.
I've seen him live twice now. He sings and plays the guitar along with a backing track. The guitar aspect comes across much more live than on the recorded tracks. So many choruses consist of Yoshi rocking out on the guitar.
He had what I think was some sort of technical difficulty and veered from the paper setlist to play some covers but that was fine.
One thing is though that even though the project 'Peer Pleasure' has been released for four months, Yoshi Flower doesn't seem to like to play those songs live. At Lollapalooza (two months after release), only one of the nine songs he played was from Peer Pleasure. At his show in Dallas, he played twelve songs: three covers and nine originals. None of the orginals were from Peer Pleasure, so that's a lot of great songs he is neglecting! To top it off, he does play two singles he released *after* Peer Pleasure, so it's not that he doesn't want to add new songs to the setlist.
I would recommend seeing Yoshi Flower live, his shows are dope and they rock.
