From his unforgiving attitude to his swagger on stage, Gorilla Zoe was one of the most formidable rappers of his generation. But despite disappearing off the face of the earth briefly, he is certainly back to carry on where he left off in 2014.
After a two year break from music, the former Boyz N Da Hood member returned with a bang by releasing the long awaited 'Recovery' mixtape. Fans of the Atlanta rapper can expect to hear the very recognisable tone and flow that Zoe brings to all his music over dark and murky beats plus added controversy. Two of the most notable tracks from the album contain references to the popular R&B artists Drake and Rihanna. Zoe goes on to saying that he 'could be your man like Drake' and referencing an unmentioned woman who is a 'freak like Rihanna'.
It's hard to know what to expect from the 31-year-old's live performances, but you can get an idea from the content of his music. Due to his haitus, he has only appeared live sporadically over the last few years but when he did perform, Zoe always had audacious elements on set that added to the atmosphere. This included anything from half naked women on stage to firing champagne into the crowd from the bottle. You can always expect something crazy to happen at a Gorilla Zoe gig.
