Philip Bailey

The distinctive and magical voice of Phillip Bailey washed over the auditorium before the lights came up on the stage and showed him standing centre stage, singing a beautiful falsetto improvisation. Since Bailey’s time in Earth, Wind, and Fire, I’ve followed his career, and his captivating soul voice has had me wanting to see him live for years. I can say now that hearing him in concert is even more incredible that listening to his studio recordings, every single note that he went for he hit perfectly and the passion behind everything he sang was totally contagious and made everyone feel super involved. Some of the notes he was hitting were absolute madness and had the entire auditorium up on our feet cheering for him.

He played a great selection of tracks from his soulful ballad type tracks, to more up beat R&B tracks when he invited us to dance along which was a lot of fun. He sang a solo version of Easy lover, which he originally recorded as a collaboration with Phil Collins, and it was awesome that he’s worked out a solo version to share with us all in the crowd.

Wow i had the pleasure of seeing mr. Philip Bailey at the City Winery.on 6/6/19 here in Nashville Tennessee my Goodness words do not do him Justice what I mean by that He was mind blowing. One of the finest performers there is. Did some Phil Collins and earth wind and fire . His new music and group of musicians are first rate. The city winery is one of the finest places to see a show in the city.
