For me, melodic hardcore bridges the gap between cult music, and popular culture, and Hundredth are a wonderful example of hardcore music that is mainstream in todays music industry. The house lights went down at the start of the show, and green/blue spotlights covered 5 points of the stage, one for every band member, and a large flame erupted at the centre back of the stage before all of the band members ran onstage to a tumultuous cheer from the crowd.
They opened the show with their track Rise, and were all dancing and jumping around the stage like crazy, whilst maintaining awesome musical performances on their instruments and vocals. The lead singer, Chadwick Johnson, came out into the crowd several times, crowd surfing, and just jumping down off the stage to shake our hands which was so incredible, because we all knew how grateful they were of the crowd.
They ended the show with their EP Resist, and played some unreleased tracks which was really special to hear from an audience point of view. It was super intense in the best way, and I didn’t stop dancing from start to finish!
