After meeting at the University of Sydney, the four members of The Jezabels realised how well their respective talents worked together and the group promptly started making indie pop and disco pop tracks together. Much of the group’s unique and distinctive sound comes from each member of the band’s strong musical tastes. In combining their musical differences, The Jezabels have found a style that is uniquely their own.
The band has released two studio albums. “Prisoner” was released in 2011 and went to the number two position on the Australian album charts. The commercial success of the album was aided by the release of their top 40 single “Endless Summer”, which was picked up by Australian television channel Foxtel for use in their promotional spots.
In 2014, The Jezables released “The Brink”. This album also shot to the number two spot in the Australian album charts and the single “The End” went all the way to number five on the Australian Indie chart.
The band has received both commercial and critical success throughout its career and “Prisoner” proved to be a powerful debut release for them. The album won the band The Australian Music Prize in 2011 and also won Best Independent Release at the ARIA awards in 2012.
The band has toured widely across Australia, North America, Canada and the UK. They have also toured alongside acts such as Imagine Dragons, Van She, Tegan & Sara and Depeche Mode.

My first exposure to The Jezabels was when I heard the songs "A Little Piece", "Easy To Love", and "Endless Summer" while having a get together with my friend at a cookout. A few if us immediately turned and asked our buddy who where these lovely song birds. He proclaimed "they are The Jezabels".
Straight out of Australia, this snazzy two guy, two girl band belted out addictive tunes of indie, alternative rock and disco pop. My friends and I wanted to experience the talents of this musical group.
Catching The Jezabels Live in Sydney was the most exciting event ever. The stage set for The Jezebels was large and lively. The big blue lights flashing into the crowd was a great compliment to the loud harmonious instruments and sweet voice of the lead singer.
The packed crowd knew every word to "A Little Piece" and cheered for more when the band was done. Although the melody seems slow and romantic, the bands great incorporation of instruments lifts the song to a new inspiring level. The Jezebels concerts are sinfully pleasing and intoxicating. My friends and I have become loyal fan members and try to catch a show together whenever possible.
The Jezabels at the Brighton Music Hall in Boston was a terrific night. The small venue, capacity 500, was not sold out. We were able to get right up to the front row and watch the band members making final adjustments to their kit. They came on strong from the start and played an amazing set of music that I personally love, great song writing, arranging, rhythms, harmonies. Solid group. I keep wondering if they are going to make it big, but in the meantime, lucky for us we could see them in this intimate setting. After an encore, they walked over to the bar and hung out with the fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, and generally just chilling with the crowd, even though they we getting on the road in an hour to play Washington DC the next day.
I know this band is much more received in Native Land Down Under drawing fans numbering in the thousands. In my book they should be selling out Madison Square Gardens but I would be lying if said i didn't feel special seeing them for my first time in Denver at the Larimer lounge. You know when you see your favorite band live for the first time, the last thing you want is to be disappointed. My only disappointment will come from listening to there CDs now. They delivered above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. Three amazing musicians and a Lead vocalist that are amazingly talented and completely original, not easy to find these days.

The Jezabels were AMAZING! The acoustics of the theatre were very loud though but all in all, a great show. The crowd surfing was very cool. Also shout out to the keyboardist.
